Story by Lisa S. Newman, Ph.D, Holistic Animal Care Shoppe
By the time your dog’s behavior problems appear – barring an accident, direct strike, attack, or any other incident, several ‘permanent changes’ have generally occurred. This doesn’t mean it’s ever too late to do anything about your pets emotional condition which has resulted in this event. Quite the contrary! Even senior dogs of all backgrounds, with a lifetime of being chronically crippled with negative behavior, have often responded within weeks, if not even a few days, of following nature’s “de-stressing processes.”
This is not about dog yoga, although-yes, yoga does work for both pets and their people.
These easy, yet rapidly effective Holistic Animal Care LifeStyle®️ choices are first based on identifying the underlying cause, whenever possible. Regardless, they still have a better chance of reversal, and even further prevention of emotional traumas when using a holistic approach.
Certainly, always first consult your trusted veterinary team to be sure no medical cause is behind your dog’s symptoms. After which, prevention of any known symptoms or conditions resulting from such behaviors that have turned chronic can be quickly curbed, even eliminated before they start to take hold.
Following a two-week homeopathic detoxification, which is safest and easiest on all animals’ systems, a switch to improved all-natural foods, supplements, herbs, and/or additional homeopathic remedies are used as required by the individual needs of each animal’s condition. Synergistic care, acupuncture and energy/massage therapy may also be given as its requisite need becomes clearer to you. In addition, addressing potential environmental triggers can work wonders. Permanent solutions of emotional stability are simply easier to establish, through holistic animal care and natural rearing!
Where to Begin?
When possible, identify varied symptoms such as shock, depression, fear, and aggression, as they need to be addressed. This is where the help of a reputable animal communicator can come in handy! Along with therapeutic levels of multi-supplements heavy in B-Complex, Selenium and Chromium, to help soothe your dog’s nervous system while promoting an improved detoxification of their liver and kidneys, the gentle two-week detoxification begins.
Utilizing formulas containing Ignatia 6X, which promotes emotional release when coping with grief, trauma, and other strong underlying emotions of “dis-ease.” (A term used to describe a lack of ease or balance in the body.) This is exactly where the crossroads of trauma and emotional imbalance, if left unaddressed, can lead to some serious physical symptoms! Have you heard of Louise Hays’ book on the emotional causes of dis-ease? “Heal Your Body: The Mental Causes for Physical Illness and the Metaphysical Way to Overcome Them
by Louise L. Hay”. Brilliantly, she modernized the ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.) teachings of how organs are affected by emotions. When we or our pets can no longer “stomach” our emotional situation; we simply can no longer eat.
Who or What is the Culprit?
Certainly, we may never know the exact histories of our rescued pets. Even when getting eight-week-old pups, genetics may play a part in your animal’s current emotional state – triggered by physical weakness and pain – such as results from hip dysplasia, as passed downline in certain breeds and within mixed breeds. It can even be an early slide on a slippery floor as a pup which left them vulnerable. So, the next time your dog is ‘acting out,’ please consider if they are in pain, or even simply hungry. They can also suffer from being “hangry,” having missed, or being late to a meal, just like we do! Regardless of your animal, their history, age, or symptoms presented – the body responds the same – to the proven process of alternative pet care. It’s that simple!
What’s Your Solution?
Natural rearing with holistic remedies helps not only suppress symptoms quickly, but ultimately strengthens the body, reversing true underlying weaknesses. By addressing ALL sides of the issue, toxicity, nutritional imbalances, homeopathic ‘stimulation’ and herbal ‘support’ of curative responses, you stop chasing those ‘weird’ behaviors which seem to return once veterinary suppression, such as tranquilizers or even antidepressants, such as Prozac®, is finished. Of course, these strong drugs, when used over time, have been eventually found to cause additional physical conditions, as we suffer! Fortunately, with holistic care your dog can quickly respond, and ultimately recover, in as short of time as possible. Both from its emotional and behavioral issues, including your dog’s hip pain and stiffness, which had led to their suddenly turning into a growling and snapping monster. Best side-effect in all this is this reduction of your dog’s stress and tightness in their body. This will help your beloved companion finally address both their physical dis-ease and pain, as well!
Additional minerals, especially calcium and magnesium for reduction of spasms and pain, as well as bone tissue regrowth in older dogs, are often recommended by Holistic Veterinarians; often used with high-strung dogs and those with very poor coats. All indicators of poor nutrition and mineralization. Seek out only holistic animal care products that have been available for years backed by proven (double-blind studies and third-part analysis) data as safe and effective to use, especially alongside additional veterinary conditions such as arthritic pain, and mobility dis-ease. Especially where steroid or antibiotic medications are still used – to help lessen the use of such drugs – and their potential side-effects.
Indications (markers) of Emotional Imbalance
* Excessive Panting when NOT HOT is a sure sign of ‘emotional stress’ (fear, obsession), &/or from pain
* Physical Manifestations of Stress, such as Aggression, due to acute Inflammation and chronic pain
* Digestive Upsets, including not eating, pika, diarrhea and/or constipation are often due to chronic, repetitive outbursts of stressful events, causing continual gastric juices to flow in their flight response.
* Stiff, Slow Movements, with Sad, Depressive Looks
* Groaning in their Sleep, or During Movement
* Difficulty Getting Your Dog to Play, Walk, Stay Out from Hiding…
* Lingering Pain or Poor Recovery Times (especially due to Past Injuries!), now Triggering Worse Depressive Responses which are interfering with your dog’s ability to rebound.
